We show that under multiple quenches, an isolated and trivially integrable harmonic chain can show equilibration in the thermodynamic limit. In the same limit, the out-of-time-order correlators show persistent scrambling of quantum information a long time after the quench. These surprising results may be experimentally testable with recent advances on cold atoms and optical lattices. |
