The Institute provides medical benefit to employees and their dependent family members through two schemes : CMBS and non CMBS [at CS(MA) rates]. Beneficiaries in the Contributory Medical Benefit Scheme (CMBS) contribute 1% of their basic pay plus GP per month to enjoy medical facility.

The scheme covers employees and their dependent family members if they satisfy certain eligibility criteria. At present 478 employees together with their 1750 (approx.) dependents enjoy this benefit. Pensioners and their spouses are also covered by this Contributory Medical Benefit Scheme on payment of a monthly contribution of 1% of their basic pay plus GP drawn at the time of retirement. At present 119 pensioners enjoy this benefit.
