Holographic (CFT) reconstruction of local asymptotically AdS

AdS/CFT furnishes a non-perturbative definition of quantum gravity in asymptotically anti deSitter spacetimes (AdS bulk) in terms of a conformal field theory (CFT) supported on the conformal boundary. In this talk I will given an account of efforts leading to recovering local bulk physics from the CFT, including our ongoing work on extending the construction of Kabat and Lifschytz (https://arxiv.org/abs/1703.06523) to recover the bulk metric in a subregion homologous to CFT data on a given boundary subregion.
