Random Matrix Theory & Critical Phenomena

Random matrix theory has had many applications from modeling the energy levels in heavy atoms to the distribution of zeros of the Riemann Zeta function. Here I will discuss a new application to computing critical phenomena of a class of one-dimensional quantum and two-dimensional classical spin systems.
